Chennai – Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) - the wholly-owned Indian subsidiary of Daimler AG – has been named India’s ‘CV Manufacturer of the Year’ for the second time since 2014. At this year’s edition of the Apollo CV Awards held in Mumbai on 15th February, DICV also received two important awards for its heavy-duty truck BharatBenz 3723R and medium-duty truck BharatBenz 1014R Euro-V. In addition, the jury’s panel of industry experts named Mr. Erich Nesselhauf, Managing Director and CEO of DICV, ‘CV Man of the Year’. The Apollo CV Awards are the most reputed independent recognition for India’s commercial vehicle industry.

Focus on safety: BharatBenz introduces Driver State Monitoring System

Chennai – BharatBenz is forging ahead with the deployment of safety features in its trucks with the introduction of an innovative Driver State Monitoring System (DSMS). An industry-first in India’s commercial vehicle segment, the goal is to avoid dangerous situations of drivers falling asleep or otherwise being distracted at the wheel. The DSMS will be introduced on all premium variants of the BharatBenz heavy-duty truck range and will be available for order on other heavy-duty models and as an aftersales solution for existing heavy-duty customer vehicles. First deliveries to customers are planned for April 2018.
